I am a wife and mother of 5 sweet boys. They are my fulltime commitment. My passion for photography compels me to spend a little time away from home capturing the beauty and love I see in other families. I have pursued photography since I got my first camera at eight years old. I feel so blessed to have opportunities to share my love of photography with others. My desire is to provide everday people with extraordinary portraits at a very reasonable price. Why shouldn't normal families be able to afford great photographs! davencathi@sbcglobal.net or 916.276.5156.

Note: As of January 2010 my prices will change. I will be offering different session/portrait packages for different needs. I will be publishing my price list on my website before the end of 2009. If you have already booked your sitting you will get my current pricing. Please call or email me to schedule your family or individual session.

My boys...

{Logan} - Anything BUT "Basic"

{Mason}

I realized that I never post pictures of my own children! I decided to take the boys out on Saturday to do a mini shoot out in old Roseville. There are lots of cool old buildings and trains going by to keep my kids interested. I took a ton of images in only 20 minutes! I didn't bother getting them dressed nice, but I did comb their hair at least. Baby Baron isn't in any pics because he can't sit, or stand, and he was in the car crying with Daddy. Maybe next time!

I've been trying to convince my clients to do an "urban" session, taking pictures in an urbans setting rather than at a park or out in nature somewhere. I've really liked the urban look lately. It seems to give images more of a journalistic feel, like they belong in a magazine. Plus, I think it draws your eye more to the person rather than the background. Here are some fun examples of what an "Urban" setting might be like.

Love it! And your boys are gorgeous! What a bunch of little heart-breakers you have there Cathi! And you know, it is amazing how different they all look from each other. They have similarities of course, but they are each so unique! I am really loving the urban look!

Love them all!! I can't believe you only took 20 minutes and got such great shots of your boys! Wish my kids were that cooperative. And I have to agree with Kristin, that I think you may be in for it with those little heart-breakers of yours! Great pics and I'm digging the urban look too!

I totally love the urban look. It is what I am loving to look at right now in photography. these photos are fantastic.
When we make our appointment, let's do something cool.

I LOVE IT! All that texture on teh buildings.
That's kind of what I was thinking for our photoshoot. I want something different from the norm.
Can you still do it? I know life has been hectic lately.

What beutiful pictures! Your boys are so darn cute! My little Sarah (almost 3 year old) is in love with Noah. When he rides with us on carpool she is so twitter-pated. Its funny. I really need to get you to take our family pics soon, if you have time?
