I am a wife and mother of 5 sweet boys. They are my fulltime commitment. My passion for photography compels me to spend a little time away from home capturing the beauty and love I see in other families. I have pursued photography since I got my first camera at eight years old. I feel so blessed to have opportunities to share my love of photography with others. My desire is to provide everday people with extraordinary portraits at a very reasonable price. Why shouldn't normal families be able to afford great photographs! davencathi@sbcglobal.net or 916.276.5156.

Note: As of January 2010 my prices will change. I will be offering different session/portrait packages for different needs. I will be publishing my price list on my website before the end of 2009. If you have already booked your sitting you will get my current pricing. Please call or email me to schedule your family or individual session.

My boys...

{Logan} - Anything BUT "Basic"

{Mason}

I realized that I never post pictures of my own children! I decided to take the boys out on Saturday to do a mini shoot out in old Roseville. There are lots of cool old buildings and trains going by to keep my kids interested. I took a ton of images in only 20 minutes! I didn't bother getting them dressed nice, but I did comb their hair at least. Baby Baron isn't in any pics because he can't sit, or stand, and he was in the car crying with Daddy. Maybe next time!

I've been trying to convince my clients to do an "urban" session, taking pictures in an urbans setting rather than at a park or out in nature somewhere. I've really liked the urban look lately. It seems to give images more of a journalistic feel, like they belong in a magazine. Plus, I think it draws your eye more to the person rather than the background. Here are some fun examples of what an "Urban" setting might be like.

Most photos posted EVER!!

So I did a super fun shoot yesterday with the cutest engaged couple, Andie & Josh. Andie was actually one of my husband's Sunday School students a few years ago so it's kind of weird to see her getting married. But I realized she is older than I was when I got married. It's all relative....
Any-hoo, I had a great time and they are just beautiful! I can't wait to shoot their wedding in May! I had like 20 favorites and couldn't decide which one's to post so I decided to post a BUNCH! Please leave me a comment if you like these pics. I love to hear the feedback!

I absolutely adore the colors in the pic below! I was really happy with the depth of field I captured too. Don't mean to toot my own horn, but I felt like I was having a really good day! It may have something to do with my gorgeous subject matter!

The above and below are on the top of my list! I was so pleased with how well this whole session went. I LOVE shooting engaged couples! The love between them was almost tangible, it was great!

More of the darling brothers

These brothers were so beautiful! Their eyes just glowed! I had fun with some new processing. Let me know what you think!

(I couldn't get this one to post better, I just kept looking so pixelated, the original is perfect though!)

I've liked adding frames to show what it might look like on the wall.

Darling Brothers

These brothers were so darling! We had a great time exploring while I tried to catch them with my camera. They were full of energy and enjoyed the freedom of running around. I had fun processing these images with a little vintage flare. Don't worry Mom, I can you give them to you any way you'd like. I just really loved them with this vintage look. These are just a sneek peek, I'll post more in color and some B&W soon. Thanks so much for letting me play with these fun little guys!
